Public Service or Self-Service

9 May

On Election Day, who among those candidates do you vote for? Who among them do you think is deserving for the said position? Is he/she for the welfare of the general public or is he/she for his/her own welfare once he/she won the election?

What Reasons Behind

Does your candidate running for a government position want to accumulate monies and real properties from government funds, infrastructure projects and programs? Does your candidate running for a government position want to gain authority and power for his own business protection and vested interest? Does he/she have hidden agenda after all? Does your candidate running for a government position have sincere mission and goal-oriented vision to really serve the people? Does he/she possess high qualifications of a good leader?

Voters Expectations

How do you expect a candidate for a government position doing vote-buying before the Election Day? How do you expect a candidate spending millions for election campaign wherein he/she can receive only thousands on his/her monthly salary once he/she was elected? How do you expect a candidate for a government position who can even murder his/her opponent through whatever means just to get the desired position? Sometimes, some candidates do not fully understand the primary reasons why people want to vote. People vote because they want to improve their quality of life. They do not want to live in poverty. People want a government that can provide free and quality education, hospitalization, transportation, food and shelter which what they have expect from paying of their taxes to the government.  Low-income families in the provinces and in poor urban areas really need these things. People want change. They want to live peacefully, happily and free from any forms of discrimination. People want to live in a very clean and safe environment. People have a lot of expectations every time they cast their vote for a candidate whom they believe who can defend them for their rights and privileges as a citizen of the country and whom they believe that can support and help them in times of need.

Citizen’s Role

Every citizen of the country has a corresponding role. He/She must be a good thinker and decision-maker.  He/She should do a background check or see their track records of the candidates in the politics or outside the politics. He/She should not rely on the political ads to make a voting decision. See on what they did rather on what they say now. It is one’s right to vote this Election Day.

Wishing you enough

10 Feb

“A healthy person has many wishes while a sick person has only one wish.” This is an Indian quotation that reveals how important our life is. Do you have many wishes or do you wish only one? What is life behind those smiles? Do you have enough strength and courage to resist pains and drive away sufferings? Do you wish that no more pains at the end?

Health Condition

A person wishes for a sound body and mind. It is not whatever you possess at present that makes your life longer but how healthy you are that counts. Living a healthy life that we treasured most today than having many treasures.

Financial Status

A person wishes for sufficient monies to have an abundant, comfortable and quality life. Fair incomes, earnings, funds and investments sustain, support and promote quality life. People in all sectors require financial resources to meet their basic needs such as foods, shelter, clothing, education and hospitalization.

Emotional Stability

A person wishes for emotional stability. Life is full of challenges and struggles. Every now and then, we do experience ups and downs; straight and crossroads in our lifetime.  Sometimes, we easily get stressed due to several issues and concerns as we drive up along the way.

Wishing you enough

As mentioned above, I wish you have a very good health with financial and emotional stability. I wish you enough throughout the years.

Manggagawa Ako (I am a Worker)

1 May

Mabigyan sana ako ng maginhawang buhay;

Mabuhay sana ako ng maayos at matiwasay

Masaya at kalidad na buhay ang hangad na taglay;

Upang lahat tayo ay mabuhay ng pantay-pantay.

The Battle to Win

Some people have the battle to win against their opponents or competitors.  Athletes in boxing, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer and other sports want to win in a battle.  Sport’s fans also want their idols to win.  Contestants in singing, dancing or talent competition show their best performance to win the battle.

The Battle to Change

Some people have the battle to change.  They want to change the society where they belong.  Some people want changes in the government system that offers public services.  Some people change as they grow and develop.  These changes in various ways can be obviously observed by anyone. They might change physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, economically and spiritually.

The Battle to Heal

Some people have the battle to heal.  People with sickness or illness want to be completely healed.  They ask for medical help from the professional doctors.  They ask for spiritual help from the Almighty One.  People who got in despair or broken-hearted need emotional recovery or fast healing.

The Battle to Live

Some people have the battle to live.  Victims of crime like in drug-trafficking, human-trafficking, homecide and other crimes who were sentenced by the highest court with death penalty or capital punishment need the battle to live.  These people need your prayers to save them from execution. His Presence, Message and Legacy

18 Jan

Wearing a yellow raincoat, Pope Francis waves to the faithful as he arrives in Tacloban, Philippines, Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015. A rain-drenched but lively crowd wearing yellow and white raincoats welcomed Pope Francis in the typhoon-ravage central Philippine city of Tacloban early Saturday, chanting "Papa Francesco, Viva il Papa!" (AP Photo/Wally Santana)

The religious faith of the Filipinos retained and sustained regardless of natural calamities and life challenges they had been experienced in the past up to the present times. His message focused on helping the poor ones which applies the true Christian life.

19 Aug

Mahal kong Nanay,

Nagmamahal at nagpapasalamat,

Mga Anak at Apo

Please Don’t Leave Me Alone

8 May

My dear children,

Please don’t leave me alone.  I am your mother and you are my children.  I am already 95 years old. I don’t want to stay in the home for the aged. I want to stay with you to the rest of my life because I really love all of you very much.

I could still remember when I was with my mother.  She said, “My daughter, when you grow older, I want you to get married and have your own family so that your children can take care of you when you get old.  I cannot stay with you forever.” I followed my mother’s advice.  When I found out the right man whom I love, I got married and started to raise my own family.  My children’s names are Mary, Oliver, Theresa, Henry, Eric and Rebecca.

M for Mary

Mary, you are a professional teacher now.  I remembered when you were young, you loved to read books and shared the stories with me.  I could see how happy you are every time I listened to your stories. Now, you got promoted as school principal and also a mother with five children.

O for Oliver

Oliver, you are already a successful businessman.  I remembered when you were young. you loved to sell candies to our neighbors.  Then, you saved your earning into your piggy bank. I could see your efforts to promote your candies. Now, you own already a department store and also a father with two children.

T for Theresa

Theresa, you are a medical doctor now.  I remembered when you were young, you were consistent honor student.  You were always asking me many things which sometimes I could not answer it anymore.  Now, you are one of the stockholders of the hospital and also a mother with four children.

H for Henry

Henry, you are already an engineer.  I remembered when you were young; you loved to play blocks and Legos.  You built structures out of blocks and Legos.  Now, you own and manage a construction company and also a father with six children.

E for Eric

Eric, you are a licensed lawyer now.  I remembered when you were young; you were always engaged in a fight for defending your playmates and classmates against bully children. Now, you are a well-recognized lawyer of this present generation and a father with three children.

R for Rebecca

Rebecca, you are a great artist now.  I remembered when you were young; you loved to draw, paint, sing, dance and act.  Everybody got amused every time you perform in front of us. Now, you are doing series of TV commercials and one of the casts of upcoming movie and also a mother with one child.

Do you know that I am very proud to all of you? I understand how busy you are with your families and with your chosen professions. However, I would like to request from you that please don’t send me into the home for the aged.  In fairness, I know that many homes for the aged provide excellent services to their clients.  But… I love to stay with you as my own children to the rest of my life. I need yourtime, love and care especially when the time came that I cannot remember or recognize you due to  my severe dementia or cannot see, hear or touch you anymore.

I hope that my request be granted this Mother’s Day.

Lovingly yours,

Your Mother
